Qatar set to clash with Poland in FIVB World Championship group stage

Doha, Qatar: Qatar has been drawn into a challenging Pool B for the 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship, as announced yesterday. The tournament is set to take place from September 12 to 28, 2025, in Pasay and Quezon City, Philippines.

Qatar will compete against powerhouse teams, including three-time champions Poland, the Netherlands, and Romania. Poland, currently ranked World No. 1, boasts an impressive history in the tournament, having claimed the championship title in 1974, 2014, and 2018. They will be making their 18th appearance in this prestigious event. The Netherlands, a strong contender and the runners-up in the 1994 edition, is set for their 14th tournament appearance. Romania, with a rich legacy as a two-time runner-up in 1956 and 1966, rounds out the competitive Pool B.

Having secured a bronze medal at the recent Asian Men's Championships in 2023, Qatar aims to make a significant impact in their second appearance at the global volleyball fiesta. The team is focused on advancing to the knockout stages, with the top two teams from each pool qualifying for the next round.
