Qatar Athletics Federation announces six-member Qatar team for Paris 2024

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) revealed the six-member Qatar team slated to participate in the track and field events during the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Alongside the five athletes who had previously secured qualification for the Paris Games, female sprinter Shahad Mohammed has earned a position in Team Qatar through a wild card selection.

Leading the athletics roster is Mutaz Barshim, the current Olympic high jump champion and Qatar's primary medal hopeful for the upcoming Games.

Moreover, Aboubakar Haydar Abdallah, set to compete in the 800-meter event, marking his third consecutive Olympic appearance following noteworthy showings in Tokyo and Rio.

The team also features the trio of Asian Champion and two-time Asian Games gold winner Abdalrahman Samba, Bassem Hameida, and Ismail Dawoud, who will showcase Qatar's prowess in the 400-meter hurdles competition.
