The Biden administration has issued a warning to Israel, stipulating that the country must increase the provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza within a 30-day timeframe. Failure to comply may result in the loss of access to U.S. weapons funding.

In a letter addressed to their Israeli counterparts, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin conveyed the warning.

The urgency of enhancing aid access in light of deteriorating conditions in northern Gaza was emphasized in the letter. The recent Israeli airstrike on a hospital tent site resulted in the death of at least four individuals and injuries to others, raising significant concerns.

U.S. authorities highlighted the importance of enabling a minimum of 350 trucks of humanitarian aid to enter the area daily. They also highlighted the necessity of implementing humanitarian pauses and enhancing security measures to ensure the effective distribution of aid.

The United States has previously taken action on the issue of aid to Gaza. In April, Secretary of State Blinken conveyed a similar message, resulting in an increase in aid. However, this progress has stalled, with aid deliveries declining by over 50%, as reported by State Department spokesman Matthew Miller. He highlighted that both Blinken and Defense Secretary Austin felt it was necessary to reiterate this message, urging Israel to implement changes.
