The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that the hurricane hit Florida with winds reaching 193 km/h, making it a powerful Category 3 storm. The storm also brought heavy rains and high tides, causing severe flooding in many areas.

Authorities urged millions of people to evacuate their homes, with reports of traffic jams and fuel shortages as people tried to leave. The hurricane's strong winds and storm surge led to quickly rising water levels, causing further damage.

Hurricane Milton’s impact comes just two weeks after Hurricane Helene hit the region, leaving behind significant destruction and loss.
