Kozhikode, Kerala: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, General Secretary of the Congress Party, officially filed her nomination today for the upcoming Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election scheduled for November 13. Accompanied by her brother, Rahul Gandhi, and other senior Congress leaders, Priyanka began her campaign with a roadshow in Sulthan Bathery, receiving enthusiastic support from local Congress members.
The
by-election was initiated after Rahul Gandhi vacated the Wayanad seat, having
secured a victory in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, during the 2024 Lok Sabha
elections. The Congress is aiming to retain its stronghold in Wayanad through
Priyanka's candidacy.
Priyanka
and her mother, Sonia Gandhi, were warmly welcomed upon their arrival in
Wayanad. Several top leaders, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,
are expected to participate in campaign events as the Congress ramps up efforts
ahead of the bypoll.
