The Consulate General of India in Toronto has announced the cancellation of several consular camps that were set to issue life certificates to Indian pensioners.
This decision comes in light of security agencies' inability to provide adequate protection following a surge in violence attributed to Khalistani extremists.
The consulate communicated via social media that the cancellation was necessary due to the lack of minimum security measures available to ensure the safety of community camp organizers.
This move reflects growing concerns over safety in the region, particularly after recent clashes involving protesters waving Khalistani flags and members of the community at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton.
