Doha, Qatar: The 24th-anniversary celebrations of KUWAQ – Kannur United Welfare Association Qatar will feature a grand musical evening titled 'Qalbile Kannur', proudly presented by Goodwill Cargo, the event's title sponsor. The event will be held on Thursday, December 19, at Regency Hall, starting at 7 PM.
The music night will showcase performances by renowned artists Kannur Sharif and playback singer Shweta Ashok, along with cultural displays inspired by the vibrant landscape of Kannur. Local talents Sivapriya Suresh and Riyaz Kariyad will also join the headlining artists for special performances. The event aims to support KUWAQ’s social welfare initiatives.
The Indian Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Vipul, will officially inaugurate the event, which will be attended by representatives from various organizations, Embassy Apex Body members, and KUWAQ officials. Tickets, starting at 50 QAR, are available on Q-Tickets and through KUWAQ officials.
A vocal training workshop for aspiring singers will also be held on the morning of December 19, led by Kannur Sharif with the participation of Shweta Ashok. The workshop marks the first such initiative for artists in Doha, with an entry fee of 100 QAR and registrations ongoing.
The details of 'Qalibe Kannur' were shared during a press conference at Salwa Zaitoon Restaurant Party Hall, attended by KUWAQ President Muhammad Naushad Abu, General Secretary Rijin Palliath, Founder Member Bhuvan Raj, Cultural Wing Secretary Gopalakrishnan, Show Director Ratheesh Mathradan, Secretary Suraj Raveendran, and Treasurer Anandajan.
