Doha: The Pravasi Welfare and Cultural Forum Qatar, affiliated with the Indian Cultural Centre under the aegis of the Indian Embassy, is celebrating its 10th anniversary of service to the Indian diaspora with a grand Service Carnival. The event, set to take place on Friday, November 29, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., will bring together a wide array of services under one roof. The carnival will feature pavilions of government and non-government organizations offering services in finance, investment, employment, health, and education. Entry to the event is free.
As part of the celebrations, several specialized workshops and sessions will be organized. A workshop on financial discipline and investment opportunities for organizational leaders, alumni, and regional associations will take place at 12:30 p.m. A session focusing on new educational trends and study opportunities in Qatar, India, and abroad will run from 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., targeting parents and students. Additionally, a session dedicated to women's further education schemes will also be conducted. Facilities like CV clinics, mock interview counters, and membership registrations for Indian and Kerala government welfare schemes will be available.
The Service Carnival will also focus on health and wellness. Visitors can attend awareness sessions on lifestyle diseases, counseling for mental health issues such as work stress and loneliness, and participate in Zumba training and daily exercise programs. Free primary health check-ups and a blood donation camp, held in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation, will add to the health-oriented initiatives. Exhibitions and cultural performances, including the traditional Shinkari Melam, will further enrich the carnival experience.
Prominent
speakers such as finance and investment expert Nikhil Gopalakrishnan, educational
thinker NM Hussain, and career advisor Sulaiman Orakam will lead awareness classes.
General Convener Majeed Ali emphasized the unique value of the carnival,
offering essential services tailored to the needs of expatriates. A dedicated
website has been launched for attendees to register in advance and access
service-related updates.
