Massive turnout at Pravasi Welfare and Cultural Forum’s ‘Service Carnival’in Doha, celebrates 10 years of excellence

Doha, Qatar: Doha witnessed an overwhelming response to the Service Carnival, organized by Pravasi Welfare as part of its 10th-anniversary celebrations. The event, held at Shantiniketan Indian School, aimed to address the core challenges faced by expatriates and provide a platform for essential services. With around fifty dedicated stalls, the carnival catered to a wide range of needs, from education and career guidance to health and financial investment opportunities.


The event offered valuable resources such as a CV clinic for job seekers, career counseling, blood tests, and medical consultations. Experts also presented projects for expatriate investments, while sessions on government welfare schemes and NRI account openings were conducted for interested participants. The carnival also included a vibrant food festival, art performances, and exhibitions, making it a unique blend of service and celebration.


The inauguration ceremony was led by prominent figures, including Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy, and Yousef Ali Abdul Noor, Director of Occupational Health and Safety at Qatar’s Ministry of Labour. Distinguished guests like Khalid Abdulrahman Fakhroo, Labour Relations Specialist, and Inspector Hamad Jabir Al Buraidi also graced the occasion.


Various pavilions were inaugurated by notable dignitaries such as Hameed Vaniyambalam, Vice President of Welfare Party of India, and leaders from organizations like ISC, ICC, IBPC, and ICBF. An award in memory of K.C. Abdurahman was presented to ICBF Secretary Muhammad Kunji for his contributions.


Highlights of the event included interactive sessions by educational researcher N.M. Hussain on multiple intelligences and Nikhil Gopala Krishnan on financial discipline and investments. Special awareness classes and a children’s higher education seminar further enriched the experience.

At the closing ceremony, keynote speaker Abdul Hameed Vaniyampalam called for legislative representation of expatriates and demanded reforms in welfare schemes. The session was inaugurated by Captain Hamad Habib Al Hajiri from Qatar Community Police, and it emphasized the need for improved work cultures and rehabilitation systems for returning expatriates.

The event highlighted Pravasi Welfare’s decade-long commitment to empowering the expatriate community, leaving a lasting impact through its holistic and inclusive approach.
