Doha, Qatar: Brazilian soccer club Botafogo FR arrived in Doha on Tuesday morning, following a grueling 17-hour flight, to prepare for the highly anticipated FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2024. The team, fresh off their victory in the Brazilian Championship, is set to face Mexico's Pachuca in what is being dubbed the FIFA Derby of Americas at Stadium 974 on December 11.
Upon their arrival, Botafogo took to social media to announce, "WE ARRIVED! The champions of America and Brazil are here to compete in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup!" The club shared a video of their landing, along with photos showcasing the players being warmly welcomed in Qatar.
The Qatar Football Association also expressed their enthusiasm, extending a warm welcome to the Brazilian club via social media, stating, "Botafogo Brazilian Club. Welcome to the land of the Club World Cup."
