Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s Minister of Sports and Youth His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani has honoured Akram Afif following his achievement as the 2023 Asian Player of the Year. 

HE the minister praised Afif's commitment to excellence, noting that he is the first Qatari to win this prestigious award twice. This remarkable feat not only highlights Afif's prowess but also underscores Qatar's growing status in the international sports arena. 

The award, presented by the Asian Football Confederation, saw Afif triumph over competitors including Jordan's Yazan Al-Naimat and South Korea's Seol Young-woo, further solidifying his place among the continent's football elite.
