Qatar has secured high rankings in various categories in an online survey focusing on the opinions of expatriates.
InterNations has revealed the Expat Insider 2024 rankings, showcasing the top countries worldwide across various sectors. The rankings are based on feedback from expatriates from more than 170 countries.
Qatar has achieved an impressive fourth place in the Quality of Life category and has also made it to the top five in Healthcare, Safety & Security, Travel & Transit, and Career Prospects.
With over 12,500 expats from 175 nationalities residing in 174 countries participating in the survey, Qatar's global standing in Quality of Life is noteworthy, placing just behind the UAE, Austria, and Spain.
The rankings were determined based on five key subcategories: Healthcare, Travel & Transit, Safety & Security, Environment & Climate, and Leisure Options. Expats praised Qatar's top-notch healthcare system, ranking second globally in healthcare, right after South Korea.
Qatar's exceptional transportation network also received accolades, securing third place globally, following Austria and Singapore. Expats commended the affordability and accessibility of public transportation, as well as the ease of navigating the country by foot or bicycle.
Furthermore, Qatar ranked fifth in safety and security, with expats expressing confidence in their personal safety and the political stability of the nation. Leading the safety rankings are the UAE, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Denmark.
In terms of environmental and climate factors, Qatar placed 27th in the rankings, with expats considering air quality, climate conditions, and natural and urban environments. Costa Rica claimed the top spot in this category.
Lastly, Qatar landed in 13th place for Leisure Options, taking into account culinary diversity, cultural and nightlife offerings, and local recreational activities. Spain emerged as the leader in this category.
Overall, Qatar's strong performance across various sectors in the Expat Insider 2024 report highlights the nation's appeal and quality of life for expatriates.
