Qatar records 4 million visitors by end of October; anticipates continued growth

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Tourism has announced a remarkable achievement, with the number of visitors reaching a new high of 4 million by the end of October 2024, matching the total visitor count for all of 2023. This impressive year-to-date figure reflects a significant 26% increase in international visitors compared to the same period last year.

The outlook remains optimistic, with expectations of even higher numbers by the end of 2024, particularly as the winter season approaches, bringing with it a variety of planned activities.

A breakdown of visitor demographics reveals that GCC nationals account for 41.8% of the total, while the remaining 58.2% hail from international markets. The top ten visitor markets include the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Republic of India, United Kingdom, Kingdom of Bahrain, United States of America, State of Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Federal Republic of Germany, United Arab Emirates, and People's Republic of China.

Travel methods also highlight the growing accessibility of the destination, with 56.2% of visitors arriving by air, 37.84% by land, and 5.96% by sea.

In tandem with this surge in tourism, Qatar's hospitality sector has seen significant growth, surpassing 40,053 hotel keys as of September 2024, as part of the nation’s ongoing efforts to bolster its tourism infrastructure.
