Ministry of Public Health issues warning against e-cigarettes

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has issued a cautionary advisory concerning the use of e-cigarettes, highlighting the significant health risks associated with its use.

In a video message, the Ministry said that “Think before you vape. Know the hidden dangers of e-cigarettes.”

In Qatar, the sale, distribution, and promotion of e-cigarettes are legally prohibited.

Globally, more than 37 million young people use e-cigarettes.

The Ministry emphasized that e-cigarettes contain harmful chemicals and advised against their use.

Through visual aids, the Ministry highlighted the negative effects of electronic smoking devices such as vapes, vape pens, e-cigarettes, and e-shisha, which include risks like cardiovascular diseases, stroke, cancer, oral health issues, nicotine addiction, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
