GCC residents can now apply for 30-day e-visa to enter UAE

According to an announcement made by the UAE Digital Government on Monday, expat residents in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can now apply for a convenient 30-day e-visa to enter the UAE.

This new initiative allows expats residing in the six GCC nations to visit the UAE, provided their residency is valid for at least one year.

The e-visa, which must be obtained before travel, permits a stay of 30 days from the date of entry, with the possibility of extending it for an additional 30 days.

However, the UAE government has set specific conditions for entry: holders of the e-visa will be denied entry if their residence visa is expired or cancelled, or if their profession has changed since the issuance of the entry permit.

To ensure a smooth entry process, expatriates must have a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining upon arrival. The UAE government emphasizes that obtaining the e-visa is mandatory for all visitors, who can apply through the Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs website or via the smart channels of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).
