A tragic shooting incident occurred near a Shia Muslim mosque in Oman's capital, Muscat, resulting in the loss of six lives, including a police officer, and causing injuries to 28 individuals.

A statement reports that the three assailants were also killed by security forces during the incident in the al-Wadi al-Kabir area on Monday night.

The police did not disclose any information about the victims, assailants, or the motive behind the incident. However, Pakistan stated that four of its citizens were among those who lost their lives in a "terrorist attack" on the Imam Ali Mosque. Additionally, India also reported the loss of one of its citizens in the attack.
