Chairperson of Qatar Museums, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, has been named the most prominent Arab woman and awarded the Arab leader's medal for 2023 by the Arab Development Council for Women and Business. This recognition honors her diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, as well as her social work across various developmental fields. The award was received by the State of Qatar's Ambassador to Lebanon, HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during a reception at the embassy in Beirut. He welcomed Dr. Iman Ghossein, President of the Arab Development Council for Women and Business, along with her accompanying delegation.

In a post on his official X platform account, HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani expressed his pleasure in receiving the award on behalf of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa from President Ghossein. He noted that the honor reflects the contributions of Qatar's women leaders in development and creativity. Dr. Ghossein, in turn, expressed her deepest appreciation and gratitude to HE Sheikha Al Mayassa, whom she considers a unique model for Arab women, contributing significantly to the advancement of women both in the Arab world and globally, leaving an indelible mark on history.

Dr. Ghossein highlighted HE Sheikha Al Mayassa's exemplary influence in culture and education, noting her leadership in supporting various local and international organizations. She emphasized Sheikha Al Mayassa's relentless efforts and initiatives to preserve culture and heritage in Qatar and reinforce the historical legacy of Arabs. Ghossein also explained that the region's circumstances, particularly the war on Gaza, caused a delay in the celebration initially planned for late 2023. Out of respect for the martyrs of Gaza, the celebration was canceled, and the award was instead handed over at the Qatari embassy in Beirut.
