Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) marked World Food
Day by launching an extensive awareness campaign focused on food safety. The
initiative involved sharing safety messages through school social media
platforms and distributing brochures to educate students and parents on safe
food practices.
A
workshop titled 'Understand Your Body' was organized to promote healthy eating
habits, where participants learned to calculate their calorie needs and prepare
nutritious meals. The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) also joined the event,
offering health consultations and setting up an awareness booth featuring tools
like body mass index measurements and healthy food models.
Schools
across the country celebrated with various activities, including health
lectures, workshops, and educational trips. Director of Schools and Students
Affairs, Mariam Al Nasif Al Bouainin, emphasized the importance of collaboration
between food safety authorities and the public to ensure a safer food
environment.
