Hamad International Airport achieves LEED Gold Certification for sustainable design

Doha, Qatar: MATAR, the Qatar Company for Airports Operation and Management, has reached a significant milestone in environmental sustainability by receiving the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification for the Central Concourse of Hamad International Airport.

This recognition highlights the airport's commitment to sustainable practices, particularly with the inclusion of the indoor tropical garden, ORCHARD.

LEED certification is a globally acknowledged symbol of sustainability excellence and represents one of the most widely adopted green building rating systems. To earn this certification, buildings must meet stringent environmental standards across various criteria, such as energy efficiency, water conservation, air quality, and material selection.

The attainment of LEED Gold certification reflects Hamad International Airport's dedication to incorporating the highest environmental standards into its operations. This achievement not only promotes long-term efficiency and cost savings but also ensures a positive impact on the environment, reinforcing the airport's role as a leader in sustainable airport management.
