Doha, Qatar: Qatar welcomed the advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which underlines Israel's obligation to cease its unlawful presence in the occupied Palestinian territories and East Jerusalem.

In a recent statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the ICJ's statement concerning the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza, acknowledging these regions as a unified territorial entity requiring preservation and respect for its coherence and integrity.

The court declared Israel's imperative to swiftly terminate its illegal occupation of Palestinian land, cease all new settlements, evacuate settlers from the occupied territories, and provide compensation to those impacted by these illicit activities.

The State of Qatar reiterated its solidarity with the court's position and urged all nations and global organizations to abstain from endorsing or supporting Israel's unlawful conduct. Emphasizing the advisory opinion's reflection of fundamental principles of international law, the statement urged immediate and unconditional compliance with the court's directives.

Furthermore, the State of Qatar reaffirmed its unwavering support for the justness of the Palestinian cause and the ethical obligation to uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. It stressed the imperative of collaborative efforts to end the Israeli apartheid occupation, recognize the State of Palestine within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, and actualize the right of return for Palestinian refugees.
