Philippines unveils country’s first Muslim-dedicated beach in Boracay

The Philippines unveiled the country's inaugural Muslim-friendly beach cove Known as "Marhaba Boracay," on the iconic Boracay island. 


This picturesque beach is situated in the Newcoast region of the island, offering pristine white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters.


According to the Philippines' Department of Tourism (DOT), Marhaba Boracay is designed to welcome Muslim families and travellers. The department highlighted that the cove draws inspiration from other Muslim-friendly beach destinations like the Maldives and Thailand.


Marhaba Boracay is envisioned as a dedicated space for Muslim visitors and families, with a focus on adhering to Islamic principles and regulations. The Philippines' tourism department has been recognized as an 'Emerging Muslim-Friendly Destination' for two consecutive years, with plans to attract a growing number of Muslim tourists. Last year alone, the country welcomed 223,345 visitors from predominantly Islamic nations.
