Funeral held for Turkish-American activist martyred by Israeli forces in West Bank

On Saturday, hundreds of mourners gathered in the Turkish coastal city of Didim to pay their respects to Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, the Turkish-American activist who was tragically killed in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. 


The funeral saw attendees waving both Turkish and Palestinian flags, reflecting the deep sentiments surrounding her death.


Among the notable figures in attendance were Turkey's Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus, and the leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Ozgur Ozel. 


A guard of honour carried the 26-year-old's coffin, which was adorned with the Turkish flag, symbolizing national pride and mourning.
