Doha, Qatar – The Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs in Qatar has issued Circular no. 13 for 2024, detailing dress code rules for employees in ministries, government agencies, and public institutions. The guidelines aim to ensure proper attire during work hours and official events.

Dress Code for Male Employees:

  • Qatari Men: Traditional Qatari attire (thobe, ghutra, and egal).
  • Non-Qatari Men: Full formal dark-colored suit with a matching shirt and tie.

Dress Code for Official Occasions:

  • Summer Bisht Colors:
    • Morning: White
    • Midday: Blonde
    • Evening: Black
  • Winter Bisht: Allowed from December 1 to April 1.

Dress Code for Female Employees:

  • Qatari Women: Traditional Qatari dress (abaya and head covering).
  • Non-Qatari Women: Appropriate women's work suits. Short, tight clothing, bright colors, and excessive make-up are prohibited.

General Appearance Guidelines:

  • Clothing must be opaque and not tight.
  • No chains or logos on clothing.
  • Inappropriate hairstyles are to be avoided.
  • Sports shoes are banned unless medically necessary.

The circular emphasizes maintaining a professional and respectful appearance at all times.
