India's star fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also honored Siraj with a 600-square-yard plot in Hyderabad's prestigious Jubilee Hills, fulfilling a previous promise.

Siraj formally took charge as DSP on Friday, meeting with Telangana's Director General of Police Jitender at the DGP office, where he was presented with the appointment letter. This recognition comes after Siraj’s remarkable performance in India’s victorious T20 World Cup campaign in Barbados.

Acknowledging Siraj’s meteoric rise and resilience, the Chief Minister’s gesture highlights the government’s appreciation of the cricketer’s journey, from humble beginnings to becoming one of India’s leading fast bowlers. Since making his debut in 2020-21, Siraj has become a key player in all three formats, having represented India in 29 Tests, 44 ODIs, and 16 T20Is, with impressive wicket tallies of 78, 71, and 14, respectively.

This honor comes just ahead of India’s much-anticipated series against New Zealand, adding another feather to the bowler's illustrious career.
