ICBF launches 'Career Connect' clinics to empower Indian community in Qatar

Doha, Qatar: The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) has launched "Career Connect," a fortnightly free career and employability clinic, in collaboration with the Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI) in Qatar. The initiative was officially inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, during a ceremony on September 12 at the ICBF Kanjani Hall. The event was also attended by Mr. Eish Singhal, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy and ICBF Coordinating Officer.

The launch kicked off with a welcome speech from ICBF General Secretary Varkey Boban, who noted the overwhelming demand for the inaugural session, with all appointments filled within a short period.

ICBF President Shanavas Bava highlighted the organization's recent initiatives, including a seminar on prohibited substances and drugs in Qatar, conducted in partnership with the Indian Embassy. He expressed optimism that "Career Connect" would set a new standard for ICBF, akin to the existing "Legal Clinic," which has been serving the community twice a week.

Ambassador Vipul lauded ICBF's efforts, stating that "Career Connect" would serve as a vital resource for the labor community, offering essential guidance for choosing suitable career paths for their children back in India.

Esteemed guests at the event included E.P. Abdurahiman, President of the Indian Social Club and Chairman of CIGI, along with Adv. Issudin, Vice Chairman of CIGI, who both discussed the organization's contributions to this initiative.

A nineteen-member expert panel was introduced by ICBF Managing Committee Member Zareena Ahad, with the panel set to provide one-on-one career guidance to students and job seekers. Appointments for these sessions, which will be held on the second Friday and fourth Saturday of each month, can be made in advance.

The launch concluded with an inspiring session titled "Crafting Your Future: The Power of Career Planning," led by Mohammed Faisal, who shared valuable insights on strategic career planning.

The event was meticulously coordinated by ICBF Managing Committee Member Neelambari Sushanth, with a vote of thanks delivered by ICBF Secretary Muhammed Kunhi. The gathering also saw participation from notable community leaders, including ICBF Advisory Council Chairman Sam Basheer and ISC General Secretary Nihad Ali.

The successful event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of ICBF Vice President Deepak Shetty and other Managing Committee members.

ICBF announced plans to expand its Career Development Awareness initiative to labor camps, aiming to educate expatriate workers on guiding their children towards better educational and career prospects in India.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in ICBF’s mission to support and empower the community, equipping individuals and families with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their futures.
