M.E.S Indian School organises week-long teachers’ empowerment programme ahead of school reopening

Doha, Qatar: M.E.S Indian School conducted a week-long Teachers' Empowerment Programme prior to the school's reopening and in celebration of its Golden Jubilee. This comprehensive initiative aimed to equip educators with essential 21st-century skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality education to students effectively.




The orientation commenced with Dr. Hameeda Kadar, the school's Principal, advocating for a student-centric teaching approach to enhance learning outcomes. Dr. Kadar highlighted the importance of fostering a positive classroom environment under the theme 'Happy Classrooms' to facilitate successful teaching and learning experiences.

 


Throughout the programme, various engaging activities took place, including a compelling talk show by Mrs. Magdalene Sylvia from the English Department and a session where educators shared their experiences of overcoming challenges with determination and maintaining a positive lifestyle. The Department of Guidance and Counselling also conducted a session on 'Innovative Strategies for Exceptional Learners' led by Ms. Harleen Kaur and Ms. Tulika Mukharjee.




Moreover, sessions covering pivotal topics such as 'Learning Outcomes and Pedagogy,' 'Identifying and Resolving Common Computer Issues,' and 'Inclusive Education' were conducted by Mrs. Shyna Anil, teacher Department of English, Mr. Haroon, Senior System Admin and Mr. Rajendran, Coordinator, Department of Hindi respectively.




The programme also featured a session on 'Personal Growth and Leadership Skills' guided by Mrs. Souda Mohd. Jaleel, Assistant HOS- Girls' Section, and a session on 'Nurturing Ethical Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Skills in Students through Moral Stories' led by Mrs. Uzma Fatimee and Mrs. Vasantha.




Additionally, sessions on 'Buddy Teaching,' 'Digital Literacy Skills for Effective and Responsible Technology Use,' and 'Know Your Students' were conducted by various educators. Noteworthy contributions were made by Mrs. Muhsina Parveen, Mr. Mohammed Ilias, Mrs. Supriya Chaudary, Mrs. Shahana, Mrs. Safwa, and others, covering a wide range of educational topics aimed at enhancing teaching practices and student learning.




Departmental meetings were also held to prepare for the upcoming Term II, providing detailed training based on an updated training matrix. The event was skillfully coordinated by a dedicated team of faculty members, including Mrs. Sibi Susan Thomas, Mr. Jency George, Mrs. Mary Cynthia, Mrs. Seena Ramachandran, Mrs. Resmi Ajith Kumar, Mrs. Meghna Pashine, Mrs. Shari Lijo, Mrs. Shameera Shameer, Mrs. Hajeera Kouser, and Mrs. Afreena Mymoonath.
