Constitutional amendments referendum: Qatari employees allowed to leave work early on 5 November to cast vote

Doha, Qatar: On 3 November 2024, Sunday, the Council of Ministers Secretariat General announced that employees who are Qatari citizens may be permitted early dismissal to cast their vote in the constitutional amendments referendum on Tuesday, 5 November 2024.


The statement added that the

Qatari employees may be allowed early dismissal, provided that it does not interfere with daily operations.


On 29 October 2024, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued, Decree No. 87 of 2024, inviting all citizens aged 18 and above to take part in a general referendum on the constitutional amendments to the Permanent Constitution of the State of Qatar on 5 November 2024.


The General Referendum Committee called on Qatari citizens aged 18 years and above, both inside and outside the nation, exercise their right to vote, for the referendum on the draft constitutional amendment for 2024 to the State of Qatar's Permanent Constitution, as per Decree No. 87 of 2024.
