Doha, Qatar: The issuance of building permits by municipalities experienced a remarkable surge of 223 percent in the third quarter (Q3) of 2024 compared to the previous quarter. This significant growth highlights a robust expansion in the construction sector.

According to the Ministry of Municipality, in Q3, all eight municipalities granted a total of 4,332 building permits, a remarkable increase from the 1,339 permits issued in the second quarter of 2024. Leading the charge was Al Rayyan Municipality, which issued 1,213 permits, followed closely by Doha Municipality with 912 permits. Al Wakra Municipality and Al Daayen Municipality contributed significantly as well, issuing 745 and 636 permits, respectively.

Other municipalities also showed promising numbers, with Umm Salal Municipality issuing 322 permits and Al Khor and Al Zakhira Municipality issuing 266 permits. Al Sheehaniya Municipality and Al Shamal Municipality issued 154 and 84 permits, respectively, underscoring a widespread trend of growth in the building sector across the region.
