A devastating fire at a pharmaceutical unit in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalle district has resulted in the death of at least 17 people, with several others sustaining injuries.
The incident took place at Escientia Advanced Sciences Pvt Ltd pharma plant in the Achutapuram Special Economic Zone.
District collector of Anakapalli Vijaya Krishnan clarified that the accident was not caused by a reactor blast, dispelling earlier reports of an explosion in a chemical reactor.
