Norwegian Princess announces plans for marriage with Hollywood Guru

Norway's Princess Martha Louise, the eldest child of King Harald and Queen Sonja, has announced her wedding to self-proclaimed shaman Durek Verrett on August 31, 2024. The couple revealed their plans, despite the controversy surrounding their relationship in Norway, where Verrett's alternative medicine practices and statements have been criticized.

The wedding will take place in Geiranger, a town located on the shores of a UNESCO World Heritage Site fjord in southwestern Norway. In their statement, the couple expressed their happiness about celebrating their love in the picturesque surroundings of Geiranger.

Martha Louise and Durek Verrett became engaged in June 2022, receiving the blessing of King Harald, who himself married a commoner, Queen Sonja, in 1968. In a separate statement, the king, queen, and Crown Prince Haakon congratulated the couple and extended a warm welcome to Durek Verrett into the royal family.

Martha Louise, fourth in the line of succession, is herself accustomed to controversy. She has been an advocate of alternative therapies and claims to communicate with angels, which she has shared in books and courses, turning it into a business venture. In November 2022, she decided to relinquish her royal duties to focus on her alternative medicine business with Verrett. Although she retained her royal title, she agreed not to use it in her commercial endeavors. She was previously married to Ari Behn, a writer who tragically took his own life in 2019, three years after their divorce.
