A Jeju Air flight carrying 181 passengers and crew from Bangkok to South Korea crashed upon arrival on Sunday, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 85 lives, according to emergency services. Preliminary reports indicate that a bird strike, compounded by adverse weather conditions, may have contributed to the disaster.

Rescue efforts are ongoing, with two fortunate survivors-one crew member and one passenger-successfully extracted from the wreckage, as detailed by the national fire agency. Disturbing video footage from local broadcaster MBC captured the moment the Jeju Air plane touched down at Muan International Airport, trailing smoke from its engines before being engulfed in flames.

Lee Jeong-hyun, chief of the Muan fire station, addressed the media, stating, "The cause of the accident is presumed to be a bird strike combined with adverse weather conditions. However, the exact cause will be announced following a joint investigation."

As the National Fire Agency continues its rescue operations, the latest update confirmed "two rescued and 85 dead."
