Doha: Indian Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Vipul, emphasized the role of football in fostering international relations and encouraging Indian expatriate football talent in Qatar. Speaking at the launch of the MediaOne QIFF Super Cup 2024, he highlighted how sports competitions like football not only entertain but also strengthen the bond between nations, particularly India and Qatar.
The launch event began with the national anthems of both countries and included a moment of silence for the victims of Wayanad. QIIF President Sharaf P Hameed presided over the ceremony, while the keynote speech was delivered by Qatar Football Association’s Technical Head, Alisher Nikimbaev.
Distinguished guests such as MediaOne CEO Roshan Kakatil, Editor-in-Chief Pramod Raman, and Indian Sports Center President EP Abdurrahman also addressed the gathering, along with other notable community leaders and officials. The event saw a strong presence of Indian Embassy Apex Body Presidents and prominent figures from Qatar’s industries, as well as managers of the teams participating in the tournament.
QIIF General Secretary Ashiq Ahmed delivered the
welcome address, and Treasurer Muhammad Haneef extended a vote of thanks. Radio
SUNO RJs hosted the program, while Shanib Shamsuddin and Lithin led the
proceedings.
