Leaders of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) convened on Sunday, urging for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza after nearly 14 months of escalating violence. The summit, hosted by Kuwait, highlighted the pressing need for a truce, as the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian territory deepens.

In their final statement, the six-member council demanded an "immediate and permanent cessation of Israeli fire and military operations," alongside assurances for the delivery of humanitarian aid and essential supplies to Gaza's residents. 

Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Sabah emphasized the urgency of international intervention, calling on the global community to provide "immediate ceasefire" measures, protect innocent civilians, and establish safe corridors for the delivery of humanitarian assistance.

The summit saw the participation of prominent leaders, including Qatar's Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE Vice-President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa, and Oman's Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said.
