New Delhi: India achieved a remarkable victory with a seven-run triumph over South Africa in a thrilling final of the Twenty20 World Cup on Saturday, 29 June 2024.
In their first ever final appearance in the ICC tournament, South Africa required 30 runs off 30 balls, propelled by Heinrich Klaasen's aggressive 52 off 27 deliveries.
However, India's fast bowlers performed a strong comeback in the final overs, limiting South Africa to 169-8.
This victory marks India's second T20 World Cup title and their first world title in 12 years.
