Doha, Qatar: In an effort to enhance patient access to specialized care, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has announced the expansion of its gastroenterology services at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC). Starting Wednesday, November 13, 2024, HMC will operate 14 evening clinics weekly and introduce a dedicated Saturday procedure day for endoscopy services.
The new evening clinics, open every Sunday and Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., will accommodate over 80 additional patients per day, reducing wait times and providing greater flexibility for those needing appointments outside regular hours. In addition, a Saturday endoscopy procedure day, operational from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., has been launched to address the demand for these services, with eight procedure rooms capable of serving 50 to 60 patients.
Nasser Al Naimi, Chief of Patient Experience and Director of the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute at HMC, emphasized the importance of these enhancements: “By offering evening clinics and a dedicated Saturday procedure day, we are making it easier for patients to receive the care they need without delay. This is a vital step in improving patient satisfaction and overall healthcare outcomes.”
Dr. Khalid Al Ejji, Senior Consultant and Acting Head of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division at HMC, added, “Providing additional services during evenings and weekends ensures timely, high-quality care that accommodates our patients’ schedules.”
This latest expansion follows a series of HMC initiatives aimed at increasing access to medical services, with new evening clinics launched across various HMC facilities since May 2023. Patients can manage their appointments through HMC’s Nesma’ak customer service helpline, available 24/7 at 16060.
