Doha, Qatar: In an effort to promote diabetes awareness and prevention, Reyada Medical Center, in partnership with Qatar Malayalees, has launched the 'No Diabetes' campaign. The initiative, which aligns with World Diabetes Day, aims to raise awareness about diabetes management and prevention through accessible health screenings and educational programs. The campaign will officially begin with a medical camp on November 29, 2024, at Reyada Medical Center.
The campaign poster was unveiled by Dr. Jamsheed Hamza, Managing Director of Reyada Medical Center, and Bilal KT, a key figure in Qatar Malayalees. The event was attended by Reyada Medical Center's Marketing Manager, Altaf Khan, and other officials from Qatar Malayalees, reflecting a strong commitment from both organizations to address the growing concerns of diabetes in the community.
Pre-registration is required for individuals wishing to take part in the medical camp, which will be held at the Reyada Medical Center on the campaign's opening day.
One of the key highlights of the camp is the provision of the HbA1c test, which measures average blood sugar levels over a three-month period, offered free of charge to the first 200 participants. Following the medical camp, attendees will have access to complimentary care from expert doctors, special treatment concessions, and vital awareness programs.
In addition to the HbA1c test, the camp will also provide various health screenings, including FBS/RBS tests for sugar levels, total cholesterol, creatinine, uric acid, blood pressure, and liver tests such as SGOT and SGPT.
Dr. Hamza emphasized the importance of a mentally and physically healthy society for a brighter future, reaffirming Reyada Medical Center's commitment to delivering essential services to the community.
