Doha, Qatar: To enhance access to mental health services and combat stigma, Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Mental Health Service (MHS) and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHC) have announced the launch of an additional 24 specialist clinics within PHCC facilities. This expansion aims to provide patients with improved access to assessment, treatment, and care for various mental health conditions.
The new clinics will be established in key locations, including Al Waab Health Center, Al Sadd Health Center, Al Mashaf Health Center, Qatar University Health Center, and Al Waiba Health Center.
Dr. Majid Al Abdulla, Chairman of Psychiatry at HMC, highlighted the importance of this initiative, expressing that it not only benefits patients but also contributes to the overall redevelopment of their hospital on Salwa Road. "I held my first clinic at Al Saad Health Center and was delighted with the way I was received in the center and the very smooth running of my clinic," Dr. Al Abdulla remarked. "My patients were very happy with the new arrangements, we are keen to continue to work together to build on the early success,” he added.
