​QatarEnergy signs 10-year Naphtha supply agreement with India's Haldia Petrochemicals

 Doha, Qatar: QatarEnergy has signed a landmark agreement to supply India's Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL) with up to two million tons of naphtha over ten years, starting in the second quarter of 2024. The deal, facilitated through QatarEnergy's Singapore-based trading arm HPL Global Pte Ltd, marks the largest commitment between the two companies to date. This agreement underscores QatarEnergy's commitment to supporting India's economic growth and enhancing bilateral relations.

HE Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, expressed pride in the agreement, emphasizing Qatar's role as a reliable energy supplier to India. Al-Kaabi highlighted the strong, enduring relationship between QatarEnergy and Haldia Petrochemicals, as well as the broader ties between Qatar and India. He noted the importance of collaborative efforts to meet the region's evolving energy demands.

Dr. Purnendu Chatterjee, Chairman of Haldia Petrochemicals, celebrated the strategic partnership, which aligns with HPL's goals for business development and customer satisfaction. Haldia Petrochemicals, operating one of India's largest petrochemical complexes in West Bengal, uses naphtha as its primary feedstock. This agreement with QatarEnergy will bolster HPL's capabilities in meeting global demands for its high-quality products.
