PHCC in Qatar launches integrated care for older people at Leabaib Health Center

Doha, Qatar: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has officially launched the Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) services at Leabaib Health Center, marking a significant milestone in elderly care.

This initiative makes Leabaib the third health centre to implement the pilot program, following successful launches at Al Waab and Rawdat Al Khail Health Centers.

The ICOPE clinic operates under the World Health Organization's ICOPE program, which aims to enhance healthcare systems in managing the health and well-being of older adults by addressing early declines in intrinsic capacity. The program emphasizes maintaining and improving functional abilities, allowing older individuals to live independently for as long as possible.

Through the ICOPE initiative, PHCC is committed to promoting healthy ageing by identifying risks early and providing timely interventions to prevent or slow down the progression of frailty and functional decline among older adults.
