Doha, Qatar: Hamad Medical Corporation’s Plastic Surgery Department has reached a significant milestone by successfully performing a groundbreaking plastic surgery utilizing microsurgical reconstructive techniques for flap-based perforating arteries. 

This pioneering procedure was conducted on a patient from Gaza, who had suffered from severe back tissue loss that rendered her unable to sit or move, bringing much-needed relief after prolonged suffering.

Dr. Attallah Hamada Hamouda, the Consultant and Director of the Plastic Surgery Department at HMC, remarked, "This successful surgery is the result of the surgical expertise in the team as well as the adoption of international standards, while using advanced medical techniques. The plastic surgery department is distinguished by its multiple and continuous surgical innovations that significantly contribute to improving the quality of healthcare provided to all patients."
