Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has announced the relocation of Al Khor Hospital’s (AKH) Emergency Department to Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital (AAH), effective Friday, October 11, 2024. The move is part of AAH’s expansion, making it one of HMC’s most advanced facilities. Patients from areas such as Al Khor, Um Salal, and Lusail will now be directed to AAH for emergency care.

AAH will operate three specialized emergency departments catering to male, female, and pediatric patients. Dr. Ibrahim Fawzy, Medical Director and Acting CEO of AAH, emphasized that the new arrangement ensures access to high-quality medical services, benefiting residents in the northern regions of Doha. The hospital will also provide state-of-the-art technology and specialized care for critical conditions.

Al Khor Hospital will discontinue emergency services from October 11 but will continue offering urgent care for non-emergency walk-in cases such as minor injuries, respiratory issues, and mild ailments. This shift allows AKH to focus on less critical medical needs while AAH handles more serious emergency cases.
