51-year-old Tamhara Collazo lost her life in a shooting in Texas, allegedly perpetrated by her coworker, 51-year-old Travis Merrill.
Authorities report that Merrill had developed an unhealthy obsession with Collazo, closely monitoring her work breaks and expressing frustration over what he considered unauthorized absences.
The situation escalated when Merrill ambushed Collazo upon her return from lunch, leading to the tragic shooting. An arrest warrant affidavit disclosed that Merrill had openly admitted to being "obsessed" with Collazo and had started purchasing firearms in the months prior to the incident.
He also confessed to bringing guns to work on several occasions, raising serious concerns about workplace safety.
