Doha, Qatar: LuLu Group, a prominent retailer in the region, marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its 24th outlet in Qatar at North Plaza Mall, Umm Al Amad, on October 13, 2024. The inauguration was graced by prominent Qatari businessman Sheikh Faysal Khalifa Sultan Al-Thani. The event saw the presence of dignitaries including the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Vipul, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Ahmed M.A. Al-Thani, and LuLu Group International’s Chairman and Managing Director Yusuff Ali M.A.
The new store offers a diverse selection of fresh produce from local and international sources, an in-house bakery, and innovative features like the popular "Planet Y" section for plant-based alternatives, a zero-waste refill station, and eco-friendly green checkout counters. With ample parking, self-checkout options, and sustainability at its core, LuLu aims to enhance the shopping experience for its customers.
During the ceremony, Yusuff Ali expressed his gratitude to the Qatari leadership and thanked Sheikh Faysal for his presence, emphasizing the enduring partnership between LuLu Group and Qatar. “This is our 24th store in Qatar and the 273rd in our global network, and we are proud to contribute to Qatar’s economy under the visionary leadership of His Highness the Amir,” he said.
The Indian Ambassador, H.E. Vipul, praised LuLu’s continued success in Qatar, highlighting the strong India-Qatar relations and the support provided to the Indian community and businesses like LuLu Group.
The new outlet spans 25,000 square feet and features dedicated sections for vegan, organic, gluten-free, and other health-conscious products, along with amenities like wheelchair accessibility, gift-wrapping services, and a Reverse Vending Machine for recycling. LuLu’s commitment to sustainability and customer convenience shines through its smart technologies and eco-friendly initiatives, ensuring a seamless and responsible shopping experience.
Looking ahead, LuLu plans to open three more stores in Qatar by early 2025, further strengthening its presence in the country.
