President-elect Donald Trump has announced the appointment of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and businessman-turned-politician Vivek Ramaswamy to spearhead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in his forthcoming administration, beginning in January 2025.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Trump indicated that the primary responsibilities of DOGE will include reducing excessive regulations and minimizing wasteful spending within federal agencies.

“Together, these two distinguished individuals will contribute significantly to my administration's efforts to streamline government operations, eliminate unnecessary regulations, and enhance the efficiency of government agencies—an essential component of the 'Save America' Movement,” the statement conveyed.

Elon Musk remarked on his appointment, noting, “This initiative will undoubtedly create significant changes, addressing the widespread issue of government inefficiency."

Trump further stated that the establishment of DOGE is a long-awaited ambition for many Republican politicians, likening its importance to that of "The Manhattan Project of our time."
