Doha: The College of Engineering Trivandrum Alumni Association, Qatar Chapter (CETAAQ), marked its 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) with a spectacular celebration on November 22, 2024, at the Holiday Inn - The Business Park Hotel, Doha.
The event began with a warm welcome address by CETAAQ Chairman, Er. Sajil Abdul Salam. His Excellency Mr. Vipul, Indian Ambassador to Qatar, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the function. Renowned Malayalam actor and director, Mr. Basil Joseph, an alumnus of the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET), attended as the Guest of Honor, while Mr. K.S. Sabarinadhan, former MLA of Kerala and CET alumnus, delivered the Keynote Speech.
A significant highlight of the evening was the launch of CETAAQ's "School Bus Tracking App Project." Er. Thomas K.G, former Chairman of CETAAQ, presented an overview of the initiative. Mr. Rony Paul, Vice-Chairman of Olive International School, discussed the implementation plans, applauding CETAAQ for this innovative and safety-focused project. The App, designed to enhance school transport safety by enabling real-time bus tracking, was officially launched by the Indian Ambassador. Once fully developed in-house by CETAAQ engineers, the App will be available for interested schools, aiming to prevent incidents such as children being left unattended in buses.
Release of Silver Jubilee Souvenir Adding to the grandeur, CETAAQ unveiled its Silver Jubilee Souvenir titled "Voyage," created by a talented team led by Er. K.K. Ubaid. The souvenir was officially released by Mr. Basil Joseph alongside the magazine team, in the presence of the Ambassador.
The evening featured a choreodrama conceived by Er. Pratheesh M.V and performed by CETAAQ members, which was widely applauded. A special musical performance by Avirbhav, winner of Sony TV Superstar Season 3, and his sister Aniirvinhya marked their debut in Qatar, creating unforgettable memories for attendees.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by CETAAQ General Secretary, Arch. Tanin Thomas. IBPC President, Mr. Thaha Muhammed, also extended his greetings during the event.
The Silver Jubilee celebration was a resounding success, reflecting the strong camaraderie and exceptional talents of CETAAQ members in Qatar. The event stands as a testament to their dedication, innovation, and unity.
