Qatar’s Al Sadd has qualified for the round of 16 of the AFC Champions League for elite football competitions after a thrilling 2-1 victory against Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr on December 2, 2024.

The match took place at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, as part of the sixth round of the league stage in the Western Region of the prestigious tournament for the 2024-2025 season.

Al Sadd showcased their determination, with Akram Afif scoring the crucial first goal in the 53rd minute. Algerian player Adam Ounas followed suit, sealing the win with a goal in the dying moments of the match at 90+9 minutes. Al Nassr's Romain Saiss, mistakenly, contributed to the scoreline by scoring an own goal in the 80th minute.
