The last rites of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 92, will be conducted with state honors at the Nigambodh Ghat crematorium in Delhi today. The cremation ceremony is scheduled for 11:45 a.m., as announced by the Union Home Ministry on Friday.

Singh's mortal remains were initially kept at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters to allow the public and Congress workers to pay their respects. The funeral procession is currently en route to Nigambodh Ghat.

In addition, a dispute has arisen between the Centre and Congress regarding the allocation of space for Dr. Singh's memorial. The Congress party condemned the decision to hold the final rituals at Nigambodh Ghat, arguing that a more suitable location should have been designated for building a memorial in his honor.
